Description
The Home for Little Wanderers' Clifford Academy in Walpole, MA is seeking a Per Diem Culinary Instructor. Culinary, along with wood shop and horticulture classes, comprise the daily vocational programming offered at Clifford. Working with groups of 1 to 4 middle and high school students, the culinary instructor prepares, teaches, and facilitates classes. Under the direction of the Vocational Coordinator and Principal, they will implement vocational curriculum for special needs children at varying academic levels; behavioral management and related crisis intervention activities in the classroom; multi-disciplinary treatment team activities; and preparation of related reports and documentation, including Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and treatment plans. To assist students to become more active learners and make substantial academic gains, Clifford Academy provides a year-round engaging and comprehensive program focused on education, career development, recreation/fitness, and an individualized therapeutic approach. These areas of focus are essential in helping students build self-esteem and become active members of their communities by reducing academic and behavioral regression, promoting positive social skills, and providing exercise and fun.
