Job Description

We have an exciting Automation Engineering Manager opportunity in our Guymon , Oklahoma plant. The Automation Engineering Manager will direct, manage and coordinate the activities of a team responsible for the automation systems for Seaboard Foods Guymon processing facility. This position will also have some responsibility to provide guidance and technical expertise for Seaboard Foods' live and renewable energy operations. Provides strategic oversight for the design, programming, simulation, testing, and installation of all automation equipment including robotics and processes to improve and operate the production, maintenance, and shipping operations of the facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES (no more than 8 bullet points)



  • Project management: plans, executes, and provides instruction and oversight for automation engineering projects from conception to completion including identifying and mitigating project risks and problems.
  • Team leadership: supervises, directs, and mentors a team of automation supervisors, engineers, and technicians.
  • System design and development: Collaborates with cross-functional teams within the organization to design and develop automation systems that provide solutions through automation.
  • Testing, quality control, and maintenance: Validates the performance of automation systems through the development and implementation of testing protocols. Provides oversight to the maintenance, repair, and optimization of existing automation systems.
  • Budget process: manages project budgets, controls expenditures, and ensure resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Compliance and safety: Ensures all automation systems comply with relevant industry standards and safety standards. Promotes a culture of safety, including food safety and workplace, with the team and department from conception to completion.

QUALIFICATIONS




  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; or (5) five or more years' experience in a protein manufacturing facility with automation experience. Or, the combination of education and experience that enables performance in all aspects of the position, including managing a team of highly skilled technicians..
  • Well-developed management skills utilizing sound management principles in leading a team of employees.


  • Ability to read and interpret documents (in English) such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. English is required; bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Electrical, PLC, SCADA, and/or industrial control systems.

  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
