Internal Auditor I

Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for protecting organizational integrity? We're looking for an Internal Auditor I to dive into data, test internal controls, and support compliance through expert risk assessment and analysis. In this role, you'll conduct audits, detect internal fraud, and report findings directly to the Supervisory Committee. You'll evaluate systems and processes to uncover inefficiencies and recommend improvements that boost performance and reduce risk.

What your day may include:

  • Audit Analysis
    • Engaging in the annual risk assessment of the audit universe and tracking risk ratings.
    • Contributing to the creation and execution of the annual audit plan.
    • Participating in quarterly internal Quality Assurance Reviews (QARs) as mandated by the IIA's Global Internal Audit Standards.
  • Branch, Operational and Compliance Audits
    • Identifying and assessing risk exposures.
    • Collecting and examining evidentiary data.
    • Formulating audit programs tailored to each engagement.
    • Traveling to branches across the state to audit them.
  • Co-Worker Service
    • Communicating effectively with stakeholders about information requests, findings, and recommendations.
    • Building collaborative relationships to gain trust and promote partnership.
    • Supporting internal staff by researching and interpreting relevant policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Risk Management
    • Identifying potential risks and organizational inefficiencies.
    • Developing recommendations to mitigate identified risks.

What you bring to the team:

  • Three (3) or more years of financial institution experience, with a preference for previous auditing, branch and/or lending experience.
  • Strong experience in financial institutions and operational roles is essential.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Windows applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Strong customer service experience

Competitive pay: $29.70 - $44.56 hourly, dependent on relevant qualifications, plus an annual discretionary incentive plan and benefits package

  • The target starting pay for this position is $29.70 - $37.13 hourly, typically within the first half of the range. Actual offers will be based on individual qualifications relevant to the role and will not take an applicant's pay history into account.
  • The range above allows our employees room for growth through annual merit and other pay increase during their tenure in the position.

Where we're located: 330 Union Ave, Olympia WA. Employee must reside and perform all work in the state of Washington. This is a hybrid position that blends working in-office and from home. Works onsite at least one (1) or two (2) days per week.

Working from home/hybrid requirements:

  • Reliable, high-speed home internet connection
  • Private, confidential workspace, away from distractions and other people
  • Suitable desk/surface and desk chair

When you'd work: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm full time minimum 40 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility required to meet business needs
