Job Overview

The Senior Manager, Search Engine Optimization plays a strategic role within the in-house SEO team, collaborating with the Director of SEO to drive organic growth through the planning and execution of strategic initiatives. This leader oversees a team of specialists responsible for on-page optimizations and regularly measures and reports on SEO content performance. The Senior Manager also partners closely with creative, project management, and site merchandising teams across multiple business units.

The ideal candidate brings experience in organizing and managing a robust SEO content strategy, including editorial content, informational guides, category-level copy, transactional content, and more. They demonstrate a deep understanding of SEO best practices and communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to non-SEO audiences.

What You Will Do



  • Develop an SEO content calendar that aligns with enterprise priorities, new product launches, marketing and social initiatives, and key seasonal events such as Black Friday to guide optimization efforts.
  • Oversee partnerships with third-party content vendors to ensure all copy is high-quality, SEO-optimized, and drives incremental traffic.
  • Track, measure, and report on the impact of SEO strategies in increasing traffic and driving organic revenue.
  • Represent SEO content strategies in cross-functional meetings and workgroups to ensure alignment and visibility across the business.
  • Regularly audit and analyze existing content to maintain freshness, relevance, and competitiveness.
  • Stay current on digital marketing and SEO trends, share insights with the team, and lead SEO education and training across the organization.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of SEO category specialists and content writers responsible for executing day-to-day SEO activities.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
  • In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.



Skills You Will Need

SEO Expertise: In-depth knowledge of SEO best practices and experience in organizing and managing robust SEO content strategies, including editorial content, informational guides, category-level copy blocks, and transactional content.

Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives that drive organic growth, including creating an SEO content calendar aligned with enterprise priorities, new product additions, marketing and social alignment, and seasonal events.

Team Leadership: Experience in recruiting, training, and managing a team of SEO specialists and content writers, ensuring efficient execution of day-to-day SEO tasks.

Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills to work closely with creative, project management, and site merchandising teams across multiple business units and represent SEO strategies in cross-functional business meetings.

Analytical Skills: Proficiency in measuring and reporting the effectiveness of SEO strategies, using strong analytical and mathematical skills, preferably with experience in Microsoft Excel or similar applications.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively articulate complex ideas to a non-SEO audience and develop relationships to socialize SEO strategies across the organization.

Adaptability: Ability to monitor and analyze existing content to ensure freshness and competitiveness, stay updated on digital marketing trends, and share new techniques with the team.

Project Management: Strong project management and inter-departmental coordination skills, with the ability to execute multiple projects, closely measure their impact, and adjust strategies as needed.

Technical Proficiency: Experience with SEO tools and platforms such as Google Search Console, BrightEdge, and SEOClarity.

Creativity: Highly creative with copywriting experience being a significant plus.

Who You Are



  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years in SEO, content operations, or site merchandising with a focus on enterprise-scale content
  • Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals, taxonomy, and ecommerce hierarchy
  • Proven ability to manage fast-moving site updates and cross-functional dependencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with SEO tools (e.g., Screaming Frog, GSC, Looker Studio, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple concurrent workstreams
