Dr. Xiaoting Wu's lab at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (NYC) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team. Our lab (https://labs.neuroscience.mssm.edu/project/wu-lab/) explores how neural population dynamics, neural circuit and synaptic plasticity support social cognitive behaviors including social memory, and decision-making. To tackle these questions, we take a multidisciplinary approach that spans molecular, synaptic, and systems neuroscience using techniques such as optogenetics, miniscope imaging, slice electrophysiology, and single-cell transcriptomics. We are looking for candidates with a PhD (or equivalent) in neuroscience or a related field. Ideal applicants will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: molecular techniques such as single-cell RNA sequencing; synaptic physiology, including patch-clamp electrophysiology; behavioral neuroscience, particularly using optogenetics or in vivo imaging; or computational approaches to neural data analysis and modeling. To apply please send a brief description of your research experience, goals, CV and contact information for 2-3 references to xiaoting.wu@mssm.edu. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package along with subsidized housing in Manhattan. Mount Sinai offers a collaborative and well-equipped research environment. The Friedman Brain Institute comprises a vibrant neuroscience and biomedical community which also benefits from strong connections to institutions across New York. Postdocs will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and interdisciplinary collaborations in areas such as systems biology, genomics, and computational neuroscience. Individualized mentorship will support scientific growth, grant development, and long-term career advancement. |
