About the Team:

The Workday Financials Lead (Senior-Level Individual Contributor role) reporting to the Sr. Manager, Enterprise Technology works within the Corporate Information Systems team supporting development activities within Medidata. Workday Financials Lead is responsible for building technical and functional solutions for various Workday ERP Modules ensuring solutions are designed, configured and customized following Workday best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure and Customize Workday financial system and modules using Workday business process framework
  • Design, develop and support integrations using Workday Studio, Cloud Connect and Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) with other applications using OOB connectors and custom API orchestration
  • Provide support, develop custom reports, prepare ad-hoc queries using Workday reporting features and calculations
  • Maintain, test, and deploy Workday business processes
  • Identify system issues, conduct analyses, and form conclusions
  • Maintain process and procedure documentation related to the systems and maintain best practices to ensure Workday scalability across the global business
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Tax, Procurement, Revenue, Accounting, Account Payable, Project Billing and Revenue Recognition teams to analyze and gather business requirements, translate into functional and technical designs, and implement relevant solutions within Workday Financials
  • Provide system support and training for Finance to ensure Workday user fluency for processes and meet ever changing business requirements
  • Manage security administration, creating and maintaining existing security roles, and providing new user access to different components of the tool
  • Develop and prepare summary analyses to validate system accuracy

Qualifications:

  • 5 + years of hands-on experience working with the Workday Financials across Revenue Management, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Expenses & Billing
  • Workday Financials Certification demonstrating expertise in managing finance related tasks within Workday Platform
  • A deep understanding of the Workday platform capabilities, integration patterns, and strong analytical skills to design scalable, high-performing solutions
  • Capable of translating complex Finance processes into technical flow/ specifications and solutions taking specific strengths and limitations into consideration
  • Have a solid understanding of the data flow across disperse systems, its challenges and best practices involved in maintaining data integrity, for reliable cross-platform reporting and reconciliation
  • Support the ongoing development, maintenance and administration of Workday across the global business, work with leadership from the business and technical teams
  • Must possess organizational, problem-solving skills and time management skills and be able to meet deadlines; must be detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be able to take initiative and proactively improving processes with alignment from the key stakeholders
  • Effective verbal and written communicator, able to adapt delivery style and language to suit the audience; able to present complex issues and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Serve as a Workday product specialist, building relationships with our stakeholders across the globe as well as third-party vendors to ensure that the services and solutions provided meet existing and future business needs

As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.

The salary range for this position that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $96,000-128,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
