The University of Virginia Library is seeking an Approval Plan Specialist in the Resource Acquisition & Description department. This position conducts routine receiving, processing, and cataloging of new print approval books from around the world. They will conduct quality control review of the materials and work with vendors to correct errors with shipments and invoices. They will communicate changes to our approval plans both internally and externally and will serve as a point of contact for all questions about the availability of content through the plans. This work is done within the broader context of the Resource Acquisition & Description department, whose mission is to acquire and describe collection materials from around the world in support of the research and teaching at the University of Virginia. Physical Demands This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. Salary Range The anticipated hiring range is $48,000 - $55,000, commensurate with education and experience. Position Type & Work Location
