Overview

Alliance Cancer Specialists is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant at our Langhorne Practice to join our dedicated team in delivering compassionate, high-quality care to oncology patients. This role supports the Supervisor/Manager of Medical Assistants and Nursing by coordinating daily clinical operations and ensuring smooth patient flow in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

What You'll Do:
  • Coordinate daily room assignments and Medical Assistant schedules
  • Assist in supervising and training Medical Assistants and non-licensed clinical staff
  • Support physicians and clinicians with patient care, exams, and procedures
  • Escort patients, record vital signs, update medication lists, and prepare exam rooms
  • Administer injections (subcutaneous and intramuscular) and perform phlebotomy as needed
  • Handle patient calls, prescription refills, and appointment scheduling
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with pre-authorizations and referrals
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and clinic disinfection protocols
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain sample and indigent drug programs
What We're Looking For:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a hospital or clinic setting
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and current CPR certification strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for patient care tasks
  • Exposure to communicable diseases, medical preparations, and oncology clinic conditions
  • In-person interaction with patients, physicians, and clinical staff is essential
