The Billing Lead proactively processes all billing transactions in coordination with their assigned primary billers utilizing the most effective and efficient procedures and systems to facilitate the timely billing for services delivered by the firm in accordance with Firm policies. This position assists billers and external client servers in resolving advanced billing issues. The Billing Lead is responsible for the oversight of 2-3 billing specialists/senior billing specialists and the processing of advanced billing tasks/scenarios. This position also assists with the reviewing of work and training of new or existing team members as well as serves as a lead on team projects.

Essential Duties

Advanced professional billing duties include but are not limited to:

  • Initiate and complete advanced billing tasks in accordance with all professional billing expectations for assigned primary billers.

Reporting & Analysis duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Understand and be able to articulate the impact/effects of all financial concepts related to billing as well as impact to the firms standardized reporting.
  • Independently investigates advanced billing issues and processes invoice adjustments to ensure invoice and margin accuracy.

Career Advisor duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Mentor and/or be a Career Advisor for 2-3 Billing Specialists/Billing Specialist Seniors. Advisees may or may not be in the same physical location as you and may be in a Hybrid/Fully remote status.
  • Reviewing of work and training of new or existing team members.

Training duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Train and educate assigned primary billers and external client servers (both individual and/or group settings) on billing best practices and financial concepts related to billing as well as impact to the firms standardized reporting.

Manage billing email boxes

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree with an accounting focus or equivalent experience - Required
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience - Preferred
    • Business, Accounting or Finance major - Preferred

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Required
  • Ability to learn, implement and train others - Required
  • Ability to work in a large, complex, dynamic organization where a high degree of ambiguity and change exists - Required
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees including senior leadership - Required
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team leader - Required
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills - Required
  • Strong organization, prioritization and time management skills - Required

EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years relevant experience - Required
  • Prior professional billing experience - Required
  • Professional services experience - Preferred
  • Consulting (TAS) service line experience - Preferred

  • Ability to supervise, direct and review the results of projects or assignments - Required

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $57,200 - $94,600

Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
