Nestled in the scenic mountains near Michaux State Forest, South Mountain Restoration Center is a skilled nursing home facility that provides long-term care and is operated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

In this position, your primary responsibility will be completing plumbing projects within the plumbing shop. You will also handle maintenance and repair tasks across various trades throughout the facility. Using your journeyman-level skills, you will identify and apply the most efficient methods and procedures. Additionally, you will be tasked with driving a truck to transport personnel, equipment, and supplies. While you will have some autonomy, it is essential to follow established policies and training. Strong communication and teamwork are vital to your success. You will receive clear verbal or written instructions, often supported by helpful sketches or diagrams, to support your success and contribution to the team.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Overtime: As needed
• May change based on operational needs.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
