Central Garden & Pet is seeking a 2nd Shift Grain Receiver to be a part of our Kaytee division based in Chilton, WI. You will be responsible for receiving rail cars and trucks and cleaningof product according to specifications and product needs, while addressing the demands of constant clean-up. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Must have strong communication skills to effectively convey information, ideas, and thoughts in a clear, concise, and understandable manner, both verbally and in writing.It also encompasses the ability to actively listen and understand others, build positive relationships, and respond appropriately to different communication situations.
  • Responsible for knowing the operation of Repete software along with setting up and operating the 6 cleaning mills.
  • Set-up and clean-up machines according to product being run. Includes setting up proper screens and related components of the cleaning mills.
  • Starts machines and observes operation to detect malfunctions; makes adjustments or repairs as needed.
  • Records all inventory transactions accurately and receives delivery quantities in SAP.
  • Enters receiving routes for grains and pellets on the Repete computer and manually turns on relevant equipment.
  • Maintains open line of communication between Milling Department Operators, and Production Scheduler, to ensure grains arrive in a timely fashion.
  • Operator is responsible for performing process quality control checks as indicated through the quality control department. This including moisture, bushel weight, dockage and any other checks determined by QC. Incoming loads are sample probed.
  • Reports any mishaps or problems pertaining to the cleaning of the grains or usage of equipment.
  • Maintains equipment through preventative maintenance, ensures a clean and safe work area.
  • Understand and know the goals and objectives of the department.
  • Complies with the Confined Space policy and schedules silo cleanout according to the quality policy.
  • Reports any safety concerns or issues to supervisor
  • Comply with LOTO, Fall Protection and ALL safety rules and company policies, including food safety.
  • Understands and follows GMP and food safety requirements to produce safe quality food.
  • Responsible for reporting any Food Safety issues to authorized personnel for correction.
  • Other tasks and/or assist in other duties in Plant 3 as required by management.
  • Communicate with employees in a manner promoting a "team" work environment.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Mathematical skills required: ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Ability to work independently in an efficient, safe and accurate manner.
  • Must be able to consistently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work outside in summer and winter conditions.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Must possess basic computer skills, specific applications include Repete Controls, SAP.
  • Machine operator experience necessary
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze problems.
  • Must have good organizational skills and attention to detail
