The Treasury Accounting Specialist Sr role will assist with accounting and reporting for the Treasury division, including transactions related to derivatives and hedging, debt, securities, stock and short-term funding instruments. The role will assist in managing the month-end close process, account reconciliations and balancing, preparation of month-end and quarter-end financial reports and conduct reviews of reports prepared by other Treasury accounting staff. The role will assist with subsystem accounting and reporting functions for Treasury products and compliance with accounting standards and related accounting and reporting policies, procedures and controls.
Position Responsibilities:
Month-end Close


  • Assist in managing the Treasury Accounting month-end close process.
  • Perform various analyses and general ledger entries for Treasury accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation and detailed review of monthly Treasury product account reconciliations and balancing.


Month-end/Quarter-end Reporting


  • Assist in managing the preparation of various month-end financial reports for Treasury products for distribution to internal areas.
  • Assist in managing the preparation of quarter-end financial reports for Treasury products to be utilized by the Financial Reporting group in reporting to the bank regulatory agencies, SEC and other users (e.g., Call/FR Y-9 Reports and Form 10-Q/10-K).
  • Assist with accurate and timely detailed reviews of financial reports and other reports prepared by Treasury accounting analysts.


Subsystem Accounting and Reporting


  • Assist with Treasury product subsystem accounting and reporting functions (e.g., OpenLink, InTrader), including month-end analysis of ongoing transaction activity and research of discrepancies.
  • Assist with testing and implementation of Treasury subsystem upgrades and conversions, and product or accounting changes and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with vendors and Production Support to resolve new and existing Treasury subsystem-related issues.


Support


  • Prepare ad-hoc reporting for Treasury products requested by other areas of the Bank, including Financial Reporting, Treasury, other Treasury groups.
  • Assist with special projects as requested.
  • Train, support, and assist in development of staff.

Position Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Accounting or Finance
  • 4 years of experience in public accounting or accounting experience in a banking/financial services environment
  • 4 years of experience in financial reporting, financial accounting and/or financial analysis
  • 4 years of advanced experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (e.g. advanced functions such as VLOOKUP and IF statements, create pivot tables)
  • 4 years of experience in financial reporting tools such as Hyperion and subsystem accounting and reporting


Licenses & Certifications


  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred
