The UC Irvine School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is the first public pharmacy school in the Los Angeles-Orange County region. Its faculty and programs span a continuum from discovery, development, and delivery of new drugs, devices, and diagnostics all the way to optimizing medication therapy in patients and patient populations. The school offers a BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences, MS in Pharmacology, PhD in Pharmacological Sciences, and a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD). https://pharmsci.uci.edu

As part of the Susan & Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences, the school actively collaborates with schools in medicine, nursing, and population and public health, and the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute to educate, train, and mentor the next generation of pharmaceutical scientists and clinical pharmacists. The school's mission is to be a driving force for advancing health and wellness of individuals and society.

Directs and oversees all financial activities of the school. Manages, prepares, administers, and directs control of budget / organization resources. Manages the activities of the financial services, financial analysts and research administration staff, which includes purchasing, reimbursement processing, contract and grant proposals and award management. Reviews and approves recommendations for financial planning and control. Monitors school and department adherence to approved budget. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Serves as subject matter expert on a broad range of financial matters and advises school leadership.

Required:

• Comprehensive knowledge of finance and budget policies, practices and systems; budgeting and reporting techniques; fund accounting; human resource planning; accounting and bookkeeping.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the organization at all levels; ability to interact with diverse populations.
• Client services oriented; good listening, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
• Demonstrated skills in managing teams to achieve results.
• Advanced degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
• Experience in higher education
• 5-10 years of experience

Preferred:

• Professional certification preferred.
