Are you looking for a collaborative role that allows you to engage with
multiple departments while contributing to a supportive, low-turnover team that
values professional growth? If so, the Health Sciences Center (HSC) at the
University of New Mexico has an exciting opportunity for you.

We are
seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Coordinator to
join our administrative team. In this key role, you will provide comprehensive
support to HSC executives and administrators, helping ensure smooth day-to-day
operations while also contributing to strategic initiatives and special
projects.

Key
Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinating complex travel
    arrangements
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual
    and mid-year budget reviews
  • Managing office purchases and tracking
    expenses
  • Scheduling executive calendars,
    retreats, workshops, and events
  • Serving as Building Coordinator for
    the Health Sciences & Services Building (HSSB), managing maintenance
    communications, AED weekly/monthly monitoring and overseeing inventory
  • Reserving and coordinating use of
    conference rooms and complex schedules for parking reservations
  • Preparing and editing sensitive or
    confidential correspondence and reports
  • Processing payroll for multiple
    departments
  • Researching and interpreting
    university, state, and federal policies
  • Writing and updating Standard
    Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Managing daily office operations and
    supporting special initiatives
  • Facilitating meetings and coordinating
    logistics for internal and external events
  • Compiling and analyzing data,
    generating internal reports, and supporting leadership communications
  • Assisting in the preparation of
    high-quality departmental presentations using advanced Microsoft PowerPoint
    skills

Conditions of Employment
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience working in Higher Education
  • Experience working at the UNM Health
    Sciences Center
  • Experience with UNM Banner Finance
  • Current p/card holder, in good
    standing
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit
    written materials.
  • Ability to make sound administrative
    and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
