Job Description
Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) is seeking a skilled Marketing and Communications Leader to continue to develop our global brand and support the overall growth objectives of the business. This role reports to the VP, Global Customers & Marketing, and oversees a variety of critical initiatives and activities including but not limited to overall marketing strategy; development and oversight of AEC's brand identity in coordination with our parent Albany International's brand development; market trends analysis and reporting; external communications development and execution; competitive landscape mapping and benchmarking; organic and inorganic growth analysis, due diligence and communication; and playing a key role in the forecast revenue development for our annual AEC business plan.
Job Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this role is to help drive sales growth and improved profitability through superior marketing and communications strategy coupled with market / customer / opportunity analysis, planning, and decision-making. This person must be able to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with Strategic Account Management, Contracts, Engineering, Program Management, Operations, and Proposal Management.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communication strategies aligned with AEC's and Albany International's strategies.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the company's brand identity and messaging, ensuring consistent representation across all marketing channels and materials. Represent AEC in Albany International's overall brand and style guide development.
- Plan, execute, and optimize multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, print, and events, while managing the creation and coordination of compelling content such as press releases, articles, webinars, white papers, and social media posts.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Develop and manage the marketing and communications budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI, and monitor expenditures, adjusting plans as necessary to stay within budget.
- Oversee the company's trade show participation to include managing our engagement with the trade show organizers, stand builders, and graphics designers to secure our desired spaces for future shows and deliver industry-leading stands / chalets for our budget level of participation. Oversight includes:
- Coordinate with and secure the necessary hotel and transportation accommodations to support the team.
- Plan and manage catering for a team kick-off event and for lunches during the show. Coordinate with leadership on key strategies, messaging, display items.
- Coordinate shipping of all display items to include securing any customer and/or government approvals.
- Oversee the master meeting and transportation schedules.
- Recommend and develop marketing collateral for trade shows, customer visits, and to be available at all AEC locations to include brochures, videos, and promotional items.
- Develop and maintain strong trusted relationships with media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers across aerospace, defense, and adjacent sectors to provide opportunities for AEC to participate in print and forums that advance our brand.
- Collaborate with AEC and Albany International designated leadership to ensure rapid, strategic responses to media inquiries and emerging issues, leveraging establish relationships to shape narratives and protect brand reputation.
- Coordinate with the corporate communications team to develop an internal communication plan to effectively convey AEC's vision, mission, and values to our employees.
- Lead and mentor a Market Analyst, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment, and providing ongoing development opportunities. The functions of the Analyst will include:
- Install analytic tools and practices to become a strong data driven commercial group.
- Provide industry analysis, market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and market share assessment by customer and product line.
- Facilitate a collaborative and cross-functional process and bias of systematic information gathering and sharing to identify opportunities.
- Develop methodologies and reporting tools for the business to better understand the commercial landscape, evaluate opportunities, and execute our growth strategies.
- Deliver timely analysis and strategy on major proposals.
- Support the analysis, planning and build of the annual revenue plan.
- Lead market studies and assist in due diligence of inorganic growth opportunities.
Experience/Education/Skills
Position Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
- Bachelor of Marketing, Communications, or Business Administration with Marketing major. (Master's preferred with combined education breadth that best supports the role).
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Marketing and Communications, with at least 2 years in a management role.
- Proven track record of developing / executing successful marketing / communication strategies.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, and content marketing related to the Aerospace and Defense industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional leadership and collaboration abilities.
- Comfortable and effective in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
- Ability to travel to represent the company at trade shows, media events, and key functions as needed.
Office environment, duties performed indoors, moderate to quiet noise and comfortable temperatures. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions levels. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations require. Some may be able to do part of their work remotely. Travel may be required
