Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Sr. Data Analyst for the department of Medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The primary purpose of this position is to support clinical research, including health services and clinical trials research, by managing complex datasets, ensuring data integrity, providing analytical insights and performing data analyses to advance scientific discovery and knowledge to improve health care and clinical outcomes. The ideal candidate will have experience in data management, statistical analysis and regulatory compliance.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Assists the PI (and team) with the design, planning, and implementation of studies, including designing the statistical approaches to data analysis.
- Helps prepare data collection forms and surveys. Develops and maintains HIPAA compliant databases using appropriate tools, such as REDCap, MySQL, or MS Access. Implements data validation and quality control procedures to ensure accuracy.
- Prepares data management plans, standard operating procedures, and appropriate data dictionary documentation.
- Generates reports and dashboards related to tracking and monitoring recruitment and data collection during the conduct of any prospective studies.
- Cleans and analyzes various datasets, including data from clinical trials, epidemiologic data (e.g. NHANES), and EHR (e.g. Epic) data using appropriate statistical software, such as Stata, R, Python, SAS, or SPSS and appropriate statistical techniques.
- Prepares data tables, figures and reports for studies and for peer reviewed publications and to meet federal requirements such as clinicaltrials.gov. Helps interpret data with the PI and team to generate appropriate conclusions, and inferences.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or Statistics, plus 1 year of experience in clinical research; or Bachelor's degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or Statistics plus 3 year of experience in clinical research.
- Equivalent education, experience, and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Teams.
