What You Will Do:
GFT is seeking a CAD Technician to join our Practice or CBG Team in Kansas City, MO! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Kansas City, MO office. What you'll be challenged to do: This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated CADD Technician who thrives in a collaborative team environment. This position is accountable for using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) equipment in the drafting of routine highway design plans and details, and for performing minor highway design work. The role highlights a customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional quality and results on every project. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Develop concept design drawings from general descriptions, design criteria, and standards.
- Copies sketches, layouts, and drawings prepared by others on to CAD.
- Progress designs through various stages of plan development under the direction of a Senior Designer and/or Engineer.
- Will learn proficiency in operation of computer-aided drafting and design input station.
- Operate and troubleshoot drawing printing and plotting equipment.
- Assignments of increasing difficulty will be submitted as proficiency is increased.
- Individual is flexible and may work with numerous project teams to help in project completion.
- Maintain neat and orderly work area that will allow access to project information to other team members.

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

What we prefer you bring:
- Associate degree in related field.
- 4 years of experience using MicroStation and/ or Open Roads is preferred on highway projects.
- A driver's license is required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; AutoCAD or MicroStation; Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam required.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $76,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
