Responsibilities

Are you ready to take your clinical expertise to the next level? As the Associate Clinical Director (ACD), you'll be the right-hand partner to our Clinical Director, ensuring that our clinical programming and treatment services not only meet but exceed the high standards set by Newport Healthcare. You'll play a vital role in supporting and supervising our talented therapists, counselors, and ancillary clinical team, all while making a positive impact on the lives of our clients!

Essential Duties:

  • Client Caseload Management: You'll carry a caseload of clients or families and facilitate therapy groups as needed, stepping in when the program requires extra support or when a clinical position needs filling.

  • Training and Support: Provide training, guidance, and supervision to clinicians and milieu staff, empowering them to deliver exceptional care.

  • Interim Leadership: In the absence of the Clinical Director, you'll take the reins as Interim Clinical Director, ensuring continuity and excellence in clinical operations.

  • Admissions Support: Conduct face-to-face clinical assessments and risk evaluations, developing initial safety plans to ensure our clients' well-being.

  • Caseload Coordination: Assign caseloads and facilitate treatment team or clinical group supervision as necessary, keeping everything running smoothly.

  • Peer Review Participation: Conduct peer reviews as required by the Utilization Review department, helping to maintain high standards of care.

  • Quality Assurance: Perform weekly audits of medical records to ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation, addressing any deficiencies that arise.

  • Crisis Intervention: Provide support and intervention for clients and families in crisis, helping to navigate challenging situations with compassion and expertise.

  • On-Call Support: Participate in the on-call rotation as a backup for on-call clinicians, ready to assist during clinical emergencies and consultations.

  • Discharge Planning Coordination: Collaborate with the treatment team to coordinate effective discharge planning for clients.

  • Team Collaboration: Attend and actively participate in interdisciplinary meetings, contributing your insights and fostering teamwork.

  • Policy Implementation: Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with state licensing and accreditation requirements.

  • Communication Enhancement: Help develop systems for effective inter-departmental communication, ensuring everyone is aligned and informed.

  • Staff Communication Review: Review staff communication and shift reports for treatment implications, intervening as needed to ensure optimal client care.

  • Community Representation: Conduct facility tours and represent Newport Healthcare at company-sponsored or community events, showcasing our commitment to quality care.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field required from an accredited or state approved graduate school. Doctorate degree preferred.
  • Licensed as a Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LP) is required in Minnesota.
  • Minimum three years' experience working with adolescents and families
  • Training or experience in trauma-informed treatment preferred.
  • Willingness to be trained in Attachment Based Family Therapy required.

Compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 - $102,000 annually depending on education and experience.
