Description

This role is responsible for delivering high-level paraprofessional legal support to the Bank's Senior Management Team and external legal partners. The position involves evaluating and processing a variety of legal documents, including legal correspondence, subpoenas, contracts, and other materials as assigned. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and accuracy in a faced paced, compliance-driven environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive, process, and respond to subpoenas, search warrants or other requests from federal agencies or law enforcement in accordance with the Right to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA).
  • Manage third party legal partnerships and assist with general legal matters such as contracts, litigation support, regulatory matters, etc.
  • Assist with the review of account related paperwork including powers of attorney, trust agreements, guardianship documents, etc. as needed.
  • Coordinate with third-party legal firms and vendors to support case management and document review.
  • Track and monitor deadlines for legal responses, filings, and compliance-related actions.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential position requirement satisfactorily and a skills inventory is listed below. Associate's degree or higher in Legal Studies, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a legal support or paralegal role, preferably within a financial institution or corporate legal department. A background check will be conducted.

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret documents. Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, documentation. Possesses professional communication and interpersonal skills to write and speak effectively both one-on-one and before groups of clients or employees of the organization. Ability to communicate to clients directly and effectively.
  • TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Work and Excel. Proficiency in document management systems such as SharePoint is essential for organizing, sorting, and retrieving legal and financial records securely. Additionally, knowledge of PDF editing tools like Adobe Acrobat Pro is necessary for redacting and converting legal documents. Lastly candidates should be comfortable using secure communication tools to ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy laws.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve challenging problems involving several variables in a standardized situation.

This position operates in a professional office environment with considerable time spent at a desk using office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. Noise level is moderate with constant communication and interactions with others. May be required to lift X (e.g., 30) pounds in weight. Ability to travel on occasion to all market areas and attend seminars or training sessions offsite.
