Job Title: ServiceNow Developer, Senior

Job Summary: LCG is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing, configuring, and implementing custom solutions within the ServiceNow platform, specifically focused on IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM) modules such as Incident, Change, Request, Knowledge Management, CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Asset Management, and Mobile Agent functionalities. This role involves creating and managing custom forms, tables, scripts, and automated workflows, while also collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and system administrators to integrate, upgrade, and maintain seamless interoperability across NIH ServiceNow instance. The developer actively supports ongoing platform operations, manages lifecycle upgrades, and monitors system health to ensure optimal performance, security, and usability. Additionally, they serve as a liaison between stakeholders and vendors, advocating user needs, gathering requirements, providing comprehensive training, documentation, and clear communication around upcoming system enhancements and changes.

Key Responsibilities

ServiceNow Development & Configuration



  • Design, configure, and develop custom ServiceNow applications and workflows.
  • Develop and support solutions within IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM) modules, including:


  • Incident, Change, Request, and Knowledge Management
  • Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
  • Service Catalog and Request Fulfillment
  • Discovery and Service Mapping
  • Event Management
  • Asset Management
  • Walk-Up Experience and Mobile Agent


  • Create and manage custom forms, tables, UI policies, client/server scripts, and automated flows.


Integration and Collaboration



  • Collaborate with CIT developers and system administrators to coordinate cross-instance integrations and upgrades between the NIH and NINDS ServiceNow platforms.
  • Advocate for stakeholder needs during vendor engagements to influence product changes and improvements.


Operation, Maintenance and Support



  • Provide support for the NINDS ServiceNow environment, resolving incidents and fulfilling service requests.
  • Manage platform features, upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance to ensure performance, security, and usability.
  • Monitor platform health, usage, and performance metrics to proactively address system issues.


Stakeholder Communication and Enablement



  • Gather business and technical requirements from stakeholders to design scalable solutions.
  • Provide training, documentation, and knowledge transfer to internal users and administrative staff.
  • Communicate upcoming changes, outages, or impacts related to system enhancements or vendor updates.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow platform development including custom application design.


  • ServiceNow certifications (CAD, CSA, CIS - ITSM, or equivalent).


  • Experience supporting NIH, HHS, or similar federal health agencies.


  • Proficient in JavaScript, Glide APIs, REST/SOAP web services, and JSON/XML data handling.


  • Experience with ServiceNow integration hub, third-party API integrations, and mid-server configurations.


  • Strong understanding of DevOps, agile development practices, and CI/CD in ServiceNow.

  • Experience with governance processes in a federal IT environment including documentation, compliance, and lifecycle management.


Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
