Small Tools Operations Supervisor

Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide efficient and effective supervision of the Small Tools staff to better field construction operations function. Specifically, this role supervises and coaches the staff that purchases, maintains, and tracks the equipment, tools, and construction supplies of the Small Tools Division.

Focus & Scope
Essential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below:

Company / Entity
  1. Actively supervises and supports the staff through completing assignments on time and accurately, providing ongoing support, and proactively resolving challenges and issues.
  2. Collaborates across functions and supports consistent technical practices and administrative procedures. Adheres to policies, procedures, and standards that protect the company's interests.
  3. Promotes and protects Teichert Construction values including teamwork, fair work environment, and respect of others. Maintains a "team" spirit within the business unit and on project teams. Works and cooperates with other disciplines (across company lines) to ensure maximum and best use of resources.
  4. Promotes and protects the community perception of Teichert.

Technical / Specialty Area
  1. Oversee the staff ensuring that field operations have the tools, equipment, and supplies required. Works with subordinates to maintain an adequate inventory and assure equipment is in good working order, and available in a timely manner.
  2. Oversee the staff that tracks warehouse inventory; receives and stores tools; tracks company-owned and rented equipment; coordinates repairs; processes documents and invoices related to purchasing and repairing equipment.
  3. Builds and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external customers. Maintains a favorable impression of the company with external customers through professional and courteous interactions. Gathers feedback and continuously makes improvements to work processes, practices, and equipment.
  4. Responsible for accuracy of internal administrative organization and documentation, including tracking, receiving documents, logs, work orders, and others as required.
  5. Assists in achieving a zero injury culture through supporting safety programs and actively participating in appropriate safety meetings and training sessions to maintain a safe and healthy work environment and to meet corporate safety standards.   • Foreman, Superintendents, Project Managers, and other Construction field operations.

Role Qualifications & Requirements

Education:
  • High School diploma or GED plus AA or BA degree in business related field, or equivalent trade school
Experience & Industry Expertise:
  • Minimum of two years' experience in/knowledge of construction tools & equipment, warehouse inventory, or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience
  • Minimum of two years' experience supervising staff of 5 or more.

Specific Job Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation
  • Current on all company required safety training
  • Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and successfully avoid conflicts-of-interest
  • Knowledge of construction equipment and tools operation and application
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of Standard Operating Policies and Procedures
  • Ability to consistently appear for work on time
  • Ability to work overtime as required

  • Personal computer, iPhone, vehicle.

Physical Demands & Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Physical: Required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time. Frequent use of the phone/radio. Driving to office locations, and suppliers' locations to pick up/deliver supplies and/or tools. Some heavy lifting of materials and equipment up to 90 lbs. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May work long hours and consecutive days during peak seasons.
  • Work Environment: Exposed to the conditions of the warehouse and job sites which can include loud noise, dust, fumes, and weather conditions prevalent at the time. May work various shifts or hours, including early mornings, dusk or evenings.

BASE SALARY RANGE:
$74,167 - $103,833
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
