Job Description

Are you organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment? Do you love juggling schedules, connecting with people, and keeping the gears of healthcare turning smoothly? Join our Surgical Services team as our Surgical Scheduler - the master of calendars, the liaison between clinics and the OR, and a critical part of the patient journey.

In this role, you'll be the point person for coordinating surgical procedures, collaborating closely with Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) nurses, surgeons, and other departments. You'll make sure all the right people, paperwork, tools, and supplies come together at just the right time. It's part puzzle master, part customer service guru, part data wizard - and 100% essential to keeping our surgical services running like clockwork.

What You'll Be Doing:

Own the Schedule: Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures with precision and professionalism
Be the Connector: Communicate with clinics, patients, families, and care teams to gather key info
Support PAT RNs: Help ensure patient documentation is complete and accurate
Run Reports: Use our scheduling system to generate reports that support process improvement
Prep for Success: Make sure all necessary instruments and supplies are ready for each procedure
Do It All (Secretly): Perform high-level secretarial work with confidence and confidentiality
Juggle Like a Pro: Handle shifting priorities, multiple tasks, and last-minute changes with grace

What You Bring:

High school diploma or equivalent
3-5 years of experience in surgery scheduling or a fast-moving medical office
Strong communication skills - you're comfortable talking to patients, families, physicians, and staff
Independent thinker with sharp attention to detail
Excellent written communication and keyboarding skills
Tech-savvy with Microsoft Office and Windows experience
Cool under pressure - you handle sensitive info with care and keep things moving

Must complete SurgiNet training to stay in this role - but don't worry, we've got your back.

Bonus Points (Preferred But Not Required):

Experience working directly with patients in a clinic, hospital, or medical office
Knowledge of basic medical terminology - or a strong interest in learning it!

Why You'll Love It Here:

You'll be part of a dedicated team that values communication, teamwork, and high-quality patient care. Every day is different, and you'll never be bored. If you love staying organized, helping people, and being at the center of the action, this is the place for you.
