How You'll Contribute:

We are seeking a strategic operator and people-first leader to build, lead, and scale our Canada based Engineering division within Diversified's Global Capability Center (GCC) model. This is a senior leadership role focused not on deep technical architecture, but on creating organizational clarity, operational maturity, and scalable documentation practices across a growing remote-first team.

The Senior Director will directly manage the Canadian engineering team (20 engineers), working in partnership with counterparts in India and the U.S., and serving as the local executive presence for engineering operations in Canada. This role will also own the global documentation framework rollout-starting in Canada and extending to all regions-ensuring best practices, automation, and sustainability are embedded into engineering workflows worldwide.

What You'll Do:

GCC Canada Leadership & Growth

  • Lead the day-to-day operations, performance, and development of the Canadian engineering team.
  • Serve as the senior engineering leader in Canada and trusted partner to local Ops, HR, and cross-functional teams.
  • Scale the Canadian GCC into a center of excellence-aligned with business needs, engineering workflows, and global standards.
  • Foster a resilient, pride-driven team culture with a bias for ownership, clarity, and continuous learning.

Global Documentation & Operational Maturity

  • Design, implement, and govern a scalable documentation framework that reduces
  • redundancy and enables global collaboration.
  • Partner with engineering, quality, and operations leaders to build and enforce best
  • practices in documentation lifecycle management.
  • Champion the use of AI and automation to streamline documentation, accelerate
  • onboarding, and improving knowledge transfer ROI

People Development & Performance

  • Build career paths, onboarding frameworks, and mentoring practices that elevate engineering talent in Canada and globally.
  • Establish performance standards, coaching rhythms, and talent development plans.
  • Ensure engineers are supported, empowered, and resourced to succeed.

Cross-Functional Glue & Global Communication

  • Translate strategy into execution across Product, Sales, Engineering, and Marketing touchpoints.
  • Facilitate inter-regional collaboration across GCCs and internal teams.
  • Be the integrator and signal booster-ensuring decisions land well and teams remain connected across time zones and disciplines

Strategic Projects & Innovation Enablement

  • Lead strategic projects (e.g., tool development, org-wide documentation rollouts) that elevate delivery quality and velocity.
  • Identify operational gaps and turn ambiguity into clarity and structure.
  • Collaborate with U.S. engineering leadership on global workforce planning, documentation strategy, and resource enablement.

What You'll Bring:

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • 15+ years leading cross-functional or technical teams in media, entertainment, or technology sectors.
  • Proven success stepping into "leaderless" or ambiguous project environments and restoring clarity, delivery, and team confidence.
  • Demonstrated experience building documentation frameworks or operational systems at scale.
  • Strong command of Smartsheet, Confluence, and other project documentation tools; AI enablement experience a plus.
  • Confident communicator who thrives in distributed environments and builds trust quickly across org levels.
  • Experience with high-profile media clients and delivering under deadline/visibility pressure is strongly valued.
  • Servant leader mindset: You build structure, elevate others, and lead with clarity and care-not ego.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

* Engineering-adjacent technical understanding (e.g., media workflows, IT project lifecycle)

Why This Role?

You're not joining to push pixels or micromanage engineering specs. You're here to shape a high-performance remote engineering team, establish documentation standards that scale globally, and act as a trusted bridge between strategy and execution. You'll have the autonomy to build systems that last-and the support to make them real

  • Basic Life, AD&D, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance
