Overview

We are seeking a strategic and visionary Sr. Director of HR Business Partners to lead our HRBP function, supporting enterprise-wide initiatives and driving alignment between people strategies and business goals. Reporting directly to the SVP of People and Culture, this role will oversee a team of two Senior HR Managers and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.

In this role, you will be responsible for setting and executing the strategic direction of HR across corporate functions, with a strong focus on workforce and succession planning, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness. You will lead the development and implementation of HR programs and policies that are compliant, scalable, and aligned with our company's mission and values.

Location & Travel: This is an onsite position that can be located at our office in 4850 32nd Ave S, Fargo, ND 58104 or 10401 N Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46290. Up to 15% travel is anticipated for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
  • Analyze overall workforce to develop and implement workforce succession planning initiatives in support of our company vision
  • Participate in the implementation of strategic business plans
  • Manage capital requests and group's budget
  • Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
  • Support the implementation of a successful employee performance rating program that aligns company goals and objectives with employee goals and performance, fostering organizational alignment and accountability.
  • Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management and executive teams
  • Create strong partnership with other service line HR leaders within the Mastec and CE&I organization
  • Provide leadership, management, and direction to all HR teams
  • Create programs that support the attraction, retention, engagement, and motivation of our employees
  • Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced
  • Implement operational best practices controls, systems, etc.
  • Provide daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual reporting
  • Conduct research and analysis of organizational and external market trends and present trends, best practices, and areas of improvement to leadership
  • Develop and maintain strong company culture through programs supported within the entire employment lifecycle
  • Maintain compliance and current working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Be accessible to all employees by visiting jobsites on an occasional basis
  • Respond to all calls of employee concerns and consult with Executive Management as needed
  • Participate as needed in interviews regarding employee complaints of discrimination, hostile work environment, sexual harassment, safety violations, etc.
  • Represent Company at personnel-related hearings and investigations
  • Work with legal counsel as employer representative in employment issues as needed
  • Oversee exit interview process that continuously improves the employment experience by respecting the departure of employees, gaining insights and data into reasons behind departures to
  • Ensure all job-related employment tests as appropriate and necessary for specific positions are performed on all position applicants
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
  • Monitor all open legal issues involving your group, and legal issues affecting the industry
  • Report risk issues to the Senior Vice President

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • 12-15 years related experience and/or training
  • SPHR preferred
