Position Description

Procurement Analyst will provide analytical support for the Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management team at Atlantic Union Bank. The role will focus on cost/price analysis, due diligence on suppliers, industry research, Sarbanes-Oxley Act reviews and other analysis needed to support the strategic objectives of our business units. In addition, the position will assist with various third party monitoring activities and procurement tasks. This individual will be a key resource for the team, ensuring that the team has the information needed to make sound supply chain decisions for the Bank. He or she will be responsible for conducting analysis on a wide-ranging group of activities.

Position Accountabilities



  • Providing the analytical horsepower on key procurement initiatives
  • Conducting data collection efforts and complex baseline building from unstructured data
  • Assisting in analyzing supplier bids/proposals and conducting advanced analyses to determine total cost of ownership
  • Preparing and assessing potential sourcing scenario models
  • Performing due-diligence on suppliers
  • Performing industry research and analysis
  • Developing and maintaining detailed spend analysis for existing supplier spend
  • Developing and track key performance measures for the team
  • Recommending sourcing/contracting opportunities
  • Coordinating supplier Risk Assessments
  • Coordinating SOC Report reviews to highlight key risks
  • Ongoing Monitoring for third parties (ongoing due diligence, third party risk assessments, etc.)
  • Processing purchase orders as needed
  • Owning personal development to continually strengthen analytical skills

The position reports to the Head of Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management

Position Qualifications

Education & Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in math, finance, business, supply chain or equivalent military experience or at least 5 years of equivalent job-related work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' equivalent job-related experience with emphasis on analytics
  • 2 years' experience working in the financial services sector
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Ability to synthesize unstructured data into logical groups
  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Office, including: Excel (advanced skills), Word, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint and other programs like SQL
  • Systematically use data analysis and statistical methods
  • Experience with forecast planning
  • Subject matter expert in analytical techniques
  • Ability to interpret data
  • Ability to present data in a concise/easy to consume manner

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute work with little direction

Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
