SEI is looking to expand our Equity Trading team and seeks an Equity Trading Analyst. The Equity Trading team, within the Investment Management Unit, is responsible for all equity trading activity generated through our managed account program, quantitative factor portfolios, and SEI's exchange traded funds.

The qualified candidate would have exposure to cash equities trading, ETF trading, capital markets oversight and equity trading operations. The candidate must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work well on a dynamic high performing global team. S/He will work with traders, portfolio managers, and internal support teams on a wide array of investment strategies and assist in building scalable processes to increase trading desk efficiencies.

What you'll do:

The Trading Desk and this associate are responsible for daily interactions with our sell side partners to facilitate the trade execution process from trade creation through trade settlement. That includes management of trade orders on the Flyer Technologies and Moxy Order Management Systems, and utilization of Virtu's Triton execution management system for order routing and transaction cost analysis throughout the lifecycle of the trade. The associate is responsible for profiling trade activity on a daily basis and helping to design potential strategies related to trading. Strong communication skills with investment professionals internally and externally is a must and the ability to work within a team structure is required.

Activities include:

Review portfolio reconciliation and corporate actions reports and adjust trade blotter accordingly.

Review pre-trade analysis reports to confirm that trading strategies are appropriate for the given market conditions.

Communicate with portfolio managers regarding trade recommendations and strategies.

Ensure all trade orders are assigned the correct trading instructions, routed to the appropriate destination and executed correctly by our brokers.

Resolve un-affirmed and failing trades.

Review post-trade analysis reports to look for outliers and contributing cost factors.

Liaise with ETF authorized participants, and Capital Markets specialists to facilitate the creation/redemption process.

Support Market Surveillance capability in order to monitor market quality of ETF executions across product range.

Manage various ETF Governance and Compliance oversight requirements

Support internal reporting on ETF Capital Markets metrics for distribution throughout the firm

Support reporting and/or content on SEI ETFs, highlighting trading, flows, performance, etc.

Work with key stakeholders on market structure issues, representing ETFs in broader industry discussions

Ensure documentation of all capital markets and trading functions are accurate and current.

Work on special projects as assigned by the Manager of the team.

What you bring to the table:

The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of the asset management business including an understanding of investment product types (e.g., managed accounts, ETFs, mutual funds) and equity trading operations (i.e. trade generation and order blocking, order routing and market centers).

Four year undergraduate degree ideally in business/finance or related subjects.

Minimum of 2 years of financial services experience.

Good communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal skills / team player.

Strong working knowledge of Excel, with experience using multiple Excel functions and macros.

Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Knowledge of portfolio accounting, order management and execution management systems.

A problem solver, able to logically work through problems and propose solutions, as well as challenge and enhance current processes.

Interest in developing a career in the asset management business and pursuit of a MBA or CFA preferred.
