SEI is hiring a Fixed Income Analyst to work with the investment team on our fixed income product suite. Ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of buy side fixed income experience, a demonstrated passion for fixed income and portfolio management.

What you will do:

You will work with the team in the management of our strategies. Wholistic management includes security selection, trading and responsibilities that include a thorough understanding of client accounts. This deep knowledge will be essential in your ability to handle inquiries related to these accounts.

  • Using your analytical skills, you will review cash needs and proper allocation.

  • A significant responsibility of the position is the oversight of the portfolio and model credits. Credit oversight is necessary to assure the holdings within the portfolios are always a going concern. Oversight and analysis of portfolio holdings is imperative.

  • You will proactively look to develop your already strong knowledge of industry trends, our investment practices and approaches, and regulatory and market forces. Examples are running break even analysis at the security level and analysis of the FOMC and other drivers of short-term securities.

Portfolio Management knowledge Development:

  • Gain deep understanding across a wide scope of fixed income markets and instruments

  • Work with Portfolio Managers on security selection and trading with cash and rebalancing requests

  • Analyze global macro themes that contribute to portfolio management decisions across relevant asset classes/factors

  • Aid in the development of innovative approaches, tools and techniques for modeling and analyzing markets and instruments

  • Track and monitor key asset market performance

  • Assist with position/risk management

  • Analyze characteristics and structure of fixed income portfolios

  • Assist in determining ongoing fixed income strategy

  • Participate in credit analyses of corporate and government issuers

Desk Support

  • Work with the team to ensure all trade confirmation/affirmation are communicated to the dealer community and resolve failing trades through our reconciliation report.

  • Be a liaison between the Fixed Income desk and custodian/back-office partners

  • Run and provide reports on portfolio characteristics, performance and attribution on a regular and as needed basis

What we need from you:

  • 2-5 years' experience in asset management preferably fixed income

  • Bachelor's degree in a related subject area. CFA or MBA preferred or working towards

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills

  • Strong Excel skills are a must

  • Passion for markets and an eagerness to pursue a career in portfolio management
