Senior Full Stack Developer

BigBear.ai is looking for a seasoned Senior Full Stack Developer (JAVA/JEE) to lead the modernization and ongoing maintenance of the CBP information systems. This role offers the opportunity to apply your deep expertise in JAVA/JEE to enhance mission-critical systems, driving innovation and ensuring seamless, scalable solutions for a vital government agency.

• Design and implement JEE software applications
• Use modern software engineering tools and methodologies including Eclipse, Spring boot, Kubernetes, Docker, and Atlassian Products (Jira, Confluence)
• Work with users in an Agile development approach to understand requirements, then elicit feedback and refine solution through demonstrations
• Present the solution at formal and informal design reviews, and document the design according to the Government's system lifecycle methodology

• A Bachelor's Degree and 8-10+ years of hands-on experience in software development, with a strong focus on Java and enterprise technologies

• Deep expertise in Java JEE (8+ years), with proven experience building scalable, high-performance applications

• Strong front-end development skills with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, and JSON

• Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks like JQuery, Angular, or React

• Solid experience developing RESTful and SOAP web services

• In-depth knowledge of Spring Boot, Servlets, Struts, Spring MVC, and other core JEE Web Tier technologies

• Experience with Enterprise Java Beans (EJBs) and Java Message Service (JMS)

• Strong SQL skills and experience working with JDBC, JPA, or Hibernate for database connectivity

• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and development

• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting

• Comfortable working with JEE Servers like Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere, and others

• Cloud experience, particularly with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Experience developing 100% automated unit tests, with a passion for clean, testable code

• A strong foundation in Agile development methodologies, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, iterative environments

• Proven ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality

• Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal - to clearly convey technical concepts across diverse audiences

• A flexible mindset with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and adapt quickly to evolving requirements or technologies

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a talent for translating complex technical information for stakeholders at all levels
