The Graduate Student Writing Center Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations and special events in the Graduate Writing Center (GWC). The Specialist supervises and trains the lead and part-time writing consultants. They create and maintain all of the master calendars and programming for the center including workshops, consultations, programming and graduate student staff work schedules. They also maintain the GWC appointment scheduler and website. In consultation with the GradSuccess Director, the Specialist determines what resources are needed (staffing, funding, space, etc) and leads in the creation and updating of those resources for the GWC. The specialist also conducts individual consultations, requested workshops in departments, and creates and implements writing support programming across campus. The GWC Specialist is also an integral part of the GradSuccess Team. As such, the GWC Specialist is also responsible for assisting in the coordination, planning, and scheduling for the summer programming, provides mentorship for the GradSuccess graduate student employees, provides administrative support for data analysis and reporting for all events, and offers administrative and logistical support for all of GradSuccess. The full salary range for the Graduate Student Writing Center Specialist is $66,500-$118,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $75,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure, and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
