This role requires strong leadership, production expertise, and the ability to collaborate across departments to achieve business objectives within the organization. You'll drive strategic directives for departmental plans and organizational priorities in operations compliance and support, as well as guide decisions based on functional objectives and priorities. The ideal candidate will shape a higher level of production accountability for performance and sustainability, and guide system and functional integrations of production strategy and execution.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional production operations in accordance with the program schedule deadlines.
  • Assign tasks and monitor the daily activities of the shop team
  • Supervise multiple manufacturing disciplines in an integrated workforce environment, ensuring effective communication and coordination with other departments
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Production, Program Management, Quality, etc.) to drive decisions in alignment with company objectives
  • Use performance data to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement initiatives for responsible sub-department
  • Energize team members and hold each accountable for performance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
  • Provide Fabrication Manufacturing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to employees
  • Tracking department budgets including non-labor and overhead, and key milestones associated with Manufacturing initiatives
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve production performance for responsible sub-department
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment and document any incidents, accidents, or quality issues of responsible sub-department
  • Perform frequent inspections to ensure company standards, rules and laws are being followed regarding safety, quality, productivity, efficiency
  • Support development and implementation of process improvements, with a focus on achieving target zero metrics
  • Address and resolve conflicts or issues among production staff promptly and effectively
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent
  • Previous Supervisory or Leadership Experience: capability in managing teams, handling conflict resolution, and providing guidance and mentorship
  • Minimum of 10 years in Manufacturing or Production Environment: Demonstrates familiarity with the industry, understanding of production workflows, and hands-on experience with manufacturing processes
  • ISO 9001 Experience: Showing comprehension to establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve the QMS to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements
  • Preferred Experience with Lean Six Sigma and Lean Machining
  • Proven leadership abilities inclusive of successful change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, holding people accountable, and conducting employee reviews
  • Extreme ownership, with the ability to take full responsibility for team performance and results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Proven track record of identifying issues, analyzing data, and implementing effective solutions
  • Proficiency with hardware insertion, welding, sheet metal manufacturing, manual manufacturing, CNC machining
  • Experience with performance metrics and reporting: Developing, tracking, and analyzing KPIs to measure production performance and drive improvements
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with manufacturing equipment, understanding mechanical and electrical systems, and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Time management, adaptability, and problem-solving to maintain quality work under pressure
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to make data-driven decisions that benefit the organization
  • Mastery of the ability to drive innovative thinking, lead and inspire your team, instill collaboration, challenge status quo, manage complex situations, delegate authority, and demonstrate ability to adapt to dynamic situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to effectively communicate with team members, management, and other departments
