The Salvation Army Midland Divisional Headquarters is hiring to help for the 2025 Season of Adopt- A- Family.

This is a full-time position 35 hours per week which is Seasonal from 9/22/2025 - 12/22/2025 paying $13.75 per hour.

Essential Functions



  • Work with Angel Tree locations and other agencies to identify qualified families to participate in the Adopt A Family program.
  • Collect needed information to register qualifying families.
  • Gather donors to adopt needy families and individuals.
  • Match donors to clients.
  • Enter matched families into the database.
  • Provide weekly reports on families and donor adoptions.
  • Convert non-matched families to Angel Tree assistance.
  • Work with Regional Social Services Director and Angel Tree Coordinator to facilitate distribution of Angels to volunteering companies.
  • Participate in liaison activities for pick up and distribution of toys and tracking of Angel adoptions
  • Make arrangements for Adopt A Family clients to pick up their gifts and prepare a "thank you" note for the donors.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Complete a brief of the program.
  • Send "thank you" notes from both the Adopt A Family clients and The Salvation Army to donors upon completion of the Christmas Season.
  • Work with RSS Director and Volunteer Director on Angel Tree thank you letters to companies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with Safe From Harm guidelines.
  • Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with clients, co-workers, and supervisors. This includes, but is not limited to, such actions as: resolution of conflicts in a professional manner; courteous treatment of staff, visitors, and clients; respect of others' property and person; and professional and appropriate communication to and about clients, co-workers, and supervisors.



Education

High School diploma or equivalent. Good organization, phone, written communication, data entry, research, and interpersonal skills; emotionally mature. Able to accept last minute changes and deadlines. Must be flexible in attitude and nature. Must maintain client confidentiality. Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and pass TSA MVR check. Must be available to work weekdays during office hours with some Saturdays and evenings as needed.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, etc. Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. Work requires frequent use of computer terminal and other office equipment. Requires long periods of sitting, and close visual examination of computer products. There may be some standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, and small packages. Position may occasionally be expected to help set up rooms for meetings and special events.
