The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center and Certified Behavioral Health Clinic serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. We provide high-quality care to all individuals, regardless of their financial circumstances. The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a Youth Psychosocial Group Leader. This position provides services to SED youth who are participating in the Center's Youth Psychosocial Program. Evenings are required 1+ days per week after 5 PM.

  • Competitive hourly rate of $21.63 to $24.04, depending upon qualifications


Responsibilities




  1. Provide ongoing support and follow-through for client goal attainment in the areas of these life domains: home, financial/insurance, vocational/educational, health, relationships, leisure/recreation, daily living skills, through goal directed YPP activities


    2. Facilitate groups as assigned and assist with development of group program curriculum


    3. Provide assertive outreach directed toward engaging and maintaining client relationships. Meet with clients individually when necessary or assigned.


    4. Transport clients to and from appointments and activities when necessary.


    5. Advocate for and with clients as they seek to achieve their goals and overcome barriers, and assist clients with effective problem-solving when necessary


    6. Provide response and support to clients when emergencies occur


    7. Promote and support clients' efforts to manage symptoms


    8. Perform case management activities when necessary or assigned


    9. Serve as Attendant on van transportation routes as assigned


    10. Provide accurate and timely documentation (progress notes and other professional products) which complies with TGC's Quality Improvement standards and the requirements of all funding sources.




EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:

Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or human service field preferred. Equivalent work experience in the human services field, or a combination of work experience in the human services field and education, with one year of experience substituting for one year of education, may be considered.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: One year volunteer or paid experience working with individuals in the community.

Preferred: experience providing services to individuals with mental health issues and/or developmental disabilities.
