About the Position and Job Qualifications

As our Special Assets Manager, you will oversee banking procedures to reduce the amount of unpaid debt the Bank incurs. The incumbent manages and recovers assets due to all forms of delinquency and monitors bankruptcy proceedings, coordinates the sale of repossessed collateral and reviews the files and notes of watchlist and classified loans.

This is a full-time exempt position. Usual days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week which are at the discretion of the supervisor. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work. Hours vary depending on business needs.

What you'll need to be our Special Assets Manager:



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Three-plus years of collection experience.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

What you'll do as a Special Assets Manager:



  • Monitor bankruptcy proceedings by filing bankruptcy proof of claims and reaffirmations.
  • Attend creditor meetings and work with attorneys when needed.
  • Manage the recovery process by monitoring past-due reports by reviewing and analyzing a past-due customer's credit file, status, and ability to pay.
  • Communicate with customers to establish payment procedures by preparing and distributing demand letters.
