The Role

ATARC (Advanced Technology Academic Research Center) is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven, and results-oriented Associate Director of Corporate Memberships to lead the recruitment, engagement, and retention of industry partners. This role is pivotal in strengthening ATARC's industry ecosystem by cultivating meaningful relationships with existing and prospective corporate members, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission to bridge the gap between government, industry, and academia in emerging technology.

Responsibilities

  • Corporate Member Engagement & Retention
    • Serve as the primary liaison for all ATARC corporate members, ensuring high-touch engagement and satisfaction.
    • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with member companies to promote active participation and retention.
    • Regularly schedule and conduct check-ins with corporate members to ensure deliverables are met and value is realized.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing and Event teams to spotlight member involvement in events, working groups, and other programs.
  • Membership Sales & Business Development
    • Lead corporate membership recruitment strategy, including prospecting, pipeline development, outreach, and closing.
    • Create compelling pitch materials tailored to industry stakeholders to communicate the value of membership.
    • Attend industry conferences, networking events, and virtual forums to represent ATARC and expand industry reach.
    • Maintain and update CRM records to track interactions, opportunities, and renewal cycles.
  • Strategic Program Development
    • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to develop new benefits and programs aligned with member priorities (e.g., thought leadership opportunities, working group access, speaking engagements).
    • Collaborate with the Events and Working Groups teams to identify and place corporate speakers and sponsors.
    • Develop reporting dashboards to monitor membership KPIs and track progress toward goals.
  • Marketing & Communications
    • Coordinate with the Marketing team to create targeted campaigns to recruit and retain corporate members.
    • Oversee development of onboarding materials, welcome packets, and corporate-focused communications.
    • Serve as a thought partner for social media, newsletters, and other public-facing content to highlight member success and impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, public administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in membership development, B2B sales, partnerships, or account management-preferably in a nonprofit, association, or tech-focused environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a consultative approach to relationship-building.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals while managing multiple accounts.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage projects independently and on deadline.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with remote teams.
  • Familiarity with tools like Google Suite, Salesforce, Eventbrite, and WordPress is a plus.

The compensation range for this role is $45,000 to $80,000, including commission potential.
