We are currently seeking a skilled Field Trainer to join our Boart Longyear team based in Elko, NV. A Boart Longyear Field Trainer plays a key role in developing our workforce by delivering practical, hands-on training and coaching to drilling crews and support staff in the field.

Responsibilities

• Deliver field-based training for drillers, helpers, mechanics, and other field personnel, with an emphasis on safe work practices, equipment operation, and adherence to company and client standards.
• Support ongoing training and skills assessments to ensure employees maintain competency and comply with company procedures.
• Drive onboarding and skill development for new hires and less experienced crew members to meet performance standards and operational requirements.
• Actively participate in the development and continuous improvement of training materials, practical assessments, and competency checklists.
• Conduct skills assessments and provide timely coaching, mentoring, and corrective feedback to support continuous improvement and development.
• Maintain accurate training documentation and support the administration of required learning management systems.
• Work closely with field supervisors and EHS&T staff to identify training needs and ensure compliance with safety procedures and policies.
• Promote a positive safety culture and act as a role model for safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
• Represent Boart Longyear with a high level of professionalism, demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate with clients and uphold our reputation for safety, reliability, and technical excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of direct field drilling experience (Reverse Circulation preferred).
• Surface Blue Card, Fall Protection, First Aid/CPR, OSHA, and MSHA certifications preferred - or the ability to obtain them within a designated timeframe.
• Strong understanding of drilling safety practices, procedures, and equipment.
• Proven ability to train and coach others effectively in a field and classroom environment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse teams, deliver clear instruction, and influence positive behaviors.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced field environment and travel to various sites as required.
