Job Title: Chemist I

Duration: 12+ months

Location: Atlanta, GA 30313

Pay Rate: $27.21/hr on W2(without benefits)

NOTE: 0-5 Years of experience required

Job Description:

  • The supplier/own Virtual device must provide laptops.
  • Onsite- 5 days a week.
  • Must have worked in a lab setting.
  • Experience: 1-5 years.
  • Evaluate new and / or existing sweet compounds or sweetener combinations through.
  • Preparation of samples reference and calibration samples and sensory tests following protocols.
  • Execute sensory tests and work with the Sensory Lead to summarize and interpret results.
  • Keep proper records and storage of incoming new material and compounds to evaluate.
  • Laboratory maintenance, including supply management and clean up.
  • Position may require successful applicant to be able to work for multiple hours continuously with production equipment and to be able to occasionally lift and transport up to 30 pounds.
  • Validate sensory methods to ensure consistency across QA R&D Product Development Packaging and Marketing.
  • Identify classify maintain and protect files documentation and sensitive information consistent with record handling and retention requirements.
  • Record data from analyses calibrations maintenance cleaning (CIP) and experiments in a computer log book or laboratory notebook.


Instrumental Analysis:

  • Ability to analyze ingredients syrups beverages concentrates or other substances using laboratory instruments.
  • This includes preparation of analytical standards and standard curves.
  • Basic knowledge of lab instruments and equipment (i.e. pH meter Brix meter etc.)


Laboratory Practices:

  • Knowledge and application of Good Laboratory Practices (e.g. handling of chemicals and glassware preparation of standards and reagents proper measuring techniques data management housekeeping).
  • Sensory Best Practices: Knowledge and application of sensory testing and Sensory Best Practice.
  • Ability to understand and apply sensory theory to generate experimental designs.
  • BS Degree Associate Degree or equivalent work experience- Not required but good to have.
