JOB SUMMARY

The Coiled Tubing Operator Technician will support the mobilization and de-mobilization of coiled tubing equipment and routine maintenance of equipment. They will also be responsible for the safe set up and operation of units and support equipment, including rigging up, rigging down, and movement of equipment from location to location and all operational aspects associated with pumping and operating CT unit. The Operations Technician reports directly to the CT Operator for all daily functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES



  • Operate fluid pumps and associated equipment without supervision.
  • Operate nitrogen pumps and associated equipment without supervision.
  • Operate coiled tubing units and associated equipment without supervision.
  • Mobilize equipment by driving coiled tubing units, pump trucks, N2 trucks, transports, or pickup trucks to the job location.
  • Conduct pre-job and post-job inspections and testing of the coiled tubing units, N2 units, fluid pumps and other ancillary equipment by completing pre and post job inspections.
  • Conduct maintenance and general upkeep of the coiled tubing units and related equipment.
  • Maintain a safe work area or job site by following LRS standard operating procedures
  • Monitor, inspect and adjust all major equipment during operations to ensure the equipment's adequate operation, such adjusting pump and injection rates.
  • Trains assistants in equipment operations and procedures.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Follow directions of Unit Operator as required to safely and promptly complete assigned job.
  • Comply and participate with all LRS and Customer safety protocols and programs.
  • Learn and retain all aspects of pumping operations.
  • Act as the designated "Spill Champion" while on the jobsite.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Assist Unit Operator in maintaining LRS Units.
  • Rigging up hoses and hardline to wellheads.
  • Provide Unit Operator with frequent updates of job status and outside conditions through frequent walk arounds.
  • Could be required to work "on call" (i.e. not on a set schedule- varying start/finish times)
  • Safely drive in arctic and inclement weather conditions.
  • Working knowledge and ability to use computers and radios as required for reports and communication.
  • Working knowledge of well head valves, safety systems and understands the hazards associated of working with/ around pressurized equipment.
  • Be willing and able to work in Arctic conditions; Extreme cold weather, slippery and uneven working surfaces.
  • Possess a working knowledge of wellhead valves, safety systems, and understand the hazards of working with / around pressurized equipment.
  • Full understanding of all applicable safety, health and environmental policies including:

    • Alaska Safety Handbook
    • Redbook Waste Management
    • LRSI SOP's
    • LRSI Safety Policy and Procedures Document
    • LRSI HSE Policy
    • LRSI EMS Plan


  • Will not allow anyone in area during initial pressure test.
  • Stop and question all unknown personnel entering area when pumping operations are taking place.
  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needs require.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.



REQUIRED EXPERIENCE



  • Must have knowledge of fluid pumps and associated equipment.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience working with coiled tubing units, including correctly connecting hydraulic hoses, equipment start-up, engaging of prime over fluid and hydraulic pumps required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Driver License required.
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification required.



PREFERRED EXPERIENCE



  • At least three (3) years of experience in coiled tubing preferred.
  • Valid Class A CDL preferred
  • Current Medical DOT Card preferred
  • Current Hazmat endorsement preferred.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have its own accommodation and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment requirements outlined below are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. A post-offer, pre-hire Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to ensure an employee's ability to safely meet job standards.
