STS Technical Services is actively hiring a Test Site Field Service Representative (FSR) to join our client's growing team in Troy, Michigan. If you're a hands-on technical professional with a strong mechanical background and field testing experience, this is your chance to support high-impact vehicle testing and development projects across the U.S.


Position Summary:

As a Field Service Representative, you'll serve as the main point of contact between remote test sites and the home office. You'll support testing operations, provide technical expertise, document performance data, and drive communication across engineering and service teams. This is a highly dynamic role that requires technical know-how, field experience, and frequent travel.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison between test sites and the home office
  • Provide subject matter expertise on vehicle systems, maintenance procedures, diagnostics, and tooling
  • Support engineering teams with data collection, deficiency documentation, and corrective actions during field tests
  • Create and submit detailed field service reports on repair actions and operational observations
  • Coordinate test site activities to ensure smooth operations and alignment with program goals
  • Attend daily briefings and meetings to report status updates and test progress
  • Represent field service capabilities to both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Maintain technical proficiency through ongoing training

Required Qualifications:

  • Automotive vocational degree or equivalent technical training
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance or mechanical systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Prior experience in a field test or prototype testing environment is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
  • Familiarity with operator- and maintainer-level procedures; ASE certifications are a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 90%, including international (U.S. Passport required)
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government clearance and/or CAC

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks such as kneeling, climbing, and repetitive motion
  • Frequent use of visual, auditory, and manual dexterity

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in both office and outdoor field environments, including remote test sites
