993 GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE: Leads execution of logistics and supply chain strategy and objectives through planning and execution of services with resources for assigned area of responsibility for Bud Antle, LLC's (BUD) inbound and/or outbound transportation services. Regularly interfaces, collaborates, and problem solves with internal teams (agricultural operations/sourcing, plant/warehouse operations and material planning, food safety, customer service and sales). Manages BUD's contracted transportation providers and capacity to meet the service needs of the business through KPIs. Identifies, develops, and implements operational excellence initiatives within the department or BUD's supply chain. Leads, develops, and motivates the logistics resources to be a highly functioning and adaptive team. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION: * Oversight of the day-to-day transportation planning and execution of transportation services through department logistics resources and key stakeholders within BUD's supply chain
* Works with and through BUD's contracted transportation providers to deliver exceptional service to our internal and external customers
* Effectively utilizes and develops reporting of logistics and supply chain data to share with their team and other departments to identify trends and opportunities from data leading to actions and decisions
* As required supports the logistics transportation capacity sourcing/selection functions and processes in freight bids and RFPs
* Manages assigned contracted suppliers for their area in service performance, capacity compliance, cost objectives and relationships to meet service needs and capabilities of BUD's business
* Maintain and assure transportation service providers compliance with Dole's contractual and business requirements; ensures transportation providers are compliant with regulatory aspects of service
* Provides leadership in resolution of OSD, freight claims, and supports freight payment settlement activities as required
* Interfaces and collaborates with agricultural sourcing and operations, plant and warehouse operations, and customers to deliver solutions and provides superior customer service and support
* Champions logistics continuous improvement, process development, and solutions to business issues in a matrix relationship environment
* Leads their team's operational excellence initiatives from identification and development to delivering on goals and objectives of the initiatives
* Key contributor with the annual transportation budget process and involved in monthly forecasting processes in collaboration with other members of logistics leadership and BUD finance partners
* Maintain expertise and knowledge with BUD's Supply Chain and Logistics systems
* Hire, train and develop transportation resources as required
* Follow all Food Safety Requirements and GMPs as applicable to position
* Other duties and projects assigned by manager
Required Skills
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: * Minimum of seven to ten years progressive logistics experience in a medium to large transportation operation. Inclusive of most recent position as a manager or supervisor
* Experience with plant/manufacturing logistics and transportation in a CPG supply chain
* Experience and knowledge with cold chain and refrigerated trucking in a consumer food manufacturing and distribution supply chain
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, leadership and analytical skills
* Relevant knowledge of life cycle of logistics functions, shipping/receiving procedures, and route/load planning optimization methods.
* Knowledge and awareness of quality management systems and methodologies
* Must have the ability to make quick decisions and work under short timelines
* Strong in multi-tasking and managing work priorities
* Highly effective problem solver that can also anticipate issues and take proactive actions to avoid or mitigate issues.
* Influencer and collaborator capable of generating and presenting ideas; be a change agent within the organization
* Above average computer skills and experience in Microsoft business applications Excel, Word, Powerpoint
* Flexible to work extended hours weekends, and holidays as business dictates
* Maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/procedures and accept constructive criticism
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Must have the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
* Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to work weekends as needed.
* Ability to travel as up to 10%
Required Experience
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: * Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management preferred or equivalent work experience in a management role within supply chain or logistics
* Additional supply chain or logistics training and certifications a plus
