UDR, Inc. is now hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Senior Systems Engineer plays a critical role in supporting, optimizing, and advancing the Company's infrastructure and connectivity technologies. This position is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and improving system performance across both cloud and on-premises environments, including Azure, AWS, compute, and storage platforms.

The role encompasses technical mentorship, project execution, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as Sarbanes-Oxley. This position operates with minimal supervision while collaborating frequently with cross-functional teams, vendors, and IT leadership to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to implement, support, and optimize business application and connectivity solutions in a hybrid cloud environment.

2. Provide subject matter expertise and strategic guidance to junior team members and cross-functional colleagues, supporting key initiatives and ensuring technical projects are delivered in alignment with company policies and requirements.

3. Provide mentorship to support desk team members in the management and troubleshooting of systems, infrastructure, and business applications, while promoting a culture of technical excellence and exceptional customer service.

4. Monitor system resources for availability and utilization, providing proactive trend analysis to identify and resolve potential issues.

5. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to implement, support, and optimize business application and connectivity solutions.

6. Translate stakeholder requirements into concise technical specifications to guide implementation.

7. Provide recommendations for new solutions to improve, replace, or augment current systems, and processes.

8. Evaluate and test potential solutions for both technical and business compatibility.

9. Supervise and test new system/technology implementations, including scheduling and rollout planning.

10. Review industry literature to identify relevant solutions that enhance system security, compliance, and functionality within the Company.

11. Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create, compose, and edit technical documents.
  • Proficient in PC software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiar with file management and documentation tools.


TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count read, speak, and analyze. Occasionally lifting files, paper, training materials, machines, or boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires extensive data input. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Requires mobility sufficient to travel. Regular and consistent attendance on the job is an essential function.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Conditions include working inside, working around machines with moving parts and moving objects, radiant and electrical energy, working closely with others, working alone, working protracted or irregular hours, and traveling by car, van, bus, and airplane. Occasional evening or weekend work. Rotating on-call required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

2. Minimum of five to seven years of infrastructure and systems experience.

3. Minimum of one-year professional level certification and/or equivalent experience.

4. Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure platform: Preference given to Azure experience. .

5. Work experience with Dell, Active Directory, single sign on (SSO) applications, LogicMonitor, Elastic, Office 365, VMWare, Windows, and Linux Operating Systems(RHEL preferred).

6. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license unless otherwise noted.

Salary Range:
* $97,000.00/yr. - $150,000.00/yr., depends on experience

Bonus Potential:
* Eligible for 10% annual bonus potential, based on personal and company performance
