Purchasing Agent

Staffmark is proud to partner with a leading manufacturing company in Lafayette, LA, in search of a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Agent. If you're highly organized, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and excel at building strong vendor relationships, this could be your next big opportunity.

Salary: $51,000 annually

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

What You'll Be Doing:

• Evaluate suppliers for cost, quality, reliability, and availability
• Negotiate contracts and secure competitive pricing
• Cross-reference purchase orders with master lists
• Recommend cost-effective or alternative purchasing solutions
• Schedule deliveries and resolve shipping errors with vendors
• Authorize payments and maintain purchase records, receipts, and inventory logs

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field
• Minimum 7 years of purchasing or procurement experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills
