Category Specialist

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Global Category Specialist to support and execute category strategies that drive enterprise-wide value. This role will partner closely with internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, and Communications to source, negotiate, and manage strategic supplier relationships.

Pay: $42-49/hr based on experience

Day in the Life -

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies across Sales & Marketing categories (e.g., media, creative, digital, events, PR, research)
• Lead RFx activities, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations utilizing Ariba or similar e-sourcing platforms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and deliver measurable cost savings and process improvements
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to inform sourcing decisions
• Build and manage strong supplier relationships, including performance reviews and compliance oversight
• Ensure adherence to internal sourcing policies and all quality and regulatory standards
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with company-wide strategic goals

Keys to Success -

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, preferably within a global or matrixed organization
• Proven success in delivering cost savings, operational efficiencies, and process improvements
• Experience with Ariba or other e-sourcing tools/platforms
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
• Experience in creative firms, market research, or sales & marketing firms is a huge plus
• Familiarity with regulated industries such as medical devices, healthcare, or high-tech is strongly preferred
