Essential Job Duties |
The Construction Safety Specialist will support active construction projects across campus by overseeing and promoting safety compliance and best practices. This temporary role requires close collaboration with internal teams, project managers, contractors, and external safety professionals to ensure adherence to safety regulations and mitigate risks. This position requires strong experience in site safety protocols, blueprint interpretation, and participation in project management processes.
Construction Safety Duties (70%)
- Attend and contribute to on-site meetings to present and reinforce safety measures
- Review and approve crane lift plans and project safety documentation
- Analyze construction blueprints and ensure jobsite compliance
- Evaluate and assist in planning pedestrian logistics and layout for site safety
- Conduct shop visits and participate/lead in safety stand-downs
- Collaborate with safety professionals and project stakeholders on compliance issues
- Lead and support site-specific safety onboarding for contractors and staff
- Participate in mishap reviews and incident tracking
Collateral Duties (30%)
- Track and maintain safety documentation and compliance metrics
- Assist with project management duties for both internal and external initiatives
- Support safety-related communications and training initiatives
- Coordinate with EHS on ongoing safety audits and improvement initiatives
