JOB DESCRIPTION:


The team leader oversees, monitors, and coordinates assembly team activities, giving importance to individual members and overall team's achievement of established goals. Ensures teams goal is aligned with and representative of the overall company's directive. Acts as a liaison between team members and the rest of the organization. Applies seasoned assembly experience to provide work instruction and training to other employees. Assists the supervisor in locating and maintaining component parts needed to support the assembly operations. Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of assembly. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Typically reports to a manager or supervisor and assumes supervisory duties in their absence.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Maintain time and production records
  • Responsible for the JD Edwards system
  • Read standards
  • Run lines as needed
  • Assist with investigating quality issues (5-Why)
  • Check under machine for things that should not be there (parts or components)
  • Check all emergency stop buttons
  • Check the set-up
  • Assigned work area will be cleaned and kept neat and orderly during every workday
  • Will recognize and comply with all safety rules
  • Will work overtime as requested by supervisor or scheduled

Requirements

  • Maintain all oil and coolant levels
  • Remove chips from clipgroove machine
  • Clean out chips from all lathes
  • Empty chip hoppers
  • Complete recuts and repairs
  • Empty scrap
  • Floors swept and mopped (within reason)
  • Machines wiped down (within reason)
  • Ensure machines running at shift change
  • Paperwork completed (to include down time)



REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES:




  • Team Lead experience preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in assembly
  • Excellent verbal & written communications skills
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Capable of learning various software
  • High School Diploma
