  • Level 1: $18.73(minimum) - $23.41(midpoint) - $28.09(maximum) Plus shift differential and overtime

Woodward in Loves Park, IL is hiring for a 1st shift, All Weekend Shift (Friday-Sunday 3:00am-3:30pm) Operations Technician to support our Braze, EDM & Test Stand machine at our Loves Park Campus. This individual will be responsible for manufacturing aerospace parts and components. If you are an experienced machine operator or are looking to advance your manufacturing skills, apply now!

What You Will Be Doing

  • Follow appropriate work instructions in order to successfully receive, clean, machine, assemble, join, treat, handle and test parts.
  • Support: Perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, stocking, shipping, washing, inspecting, buffing and polishing.
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Achieve certification and perform tasks equivalent to an NAS 410 Level 1 in the applicable NDT method(s); penetrant, radioscopy, magnetic particle, and ultrasonic.
  • Utilize computer programs, including web based systems, to enter part data, log time, and look up information in order to complete assigned work tasks.
  • Apply inspection techniques, use inspection tools efficiently, verify the calibration/expiration dates of test equipment and write non-conformance reports (NCR's) when necessary.
  • Members may be expected to work in any of the functions below:
  • Machining: Set up, operate, and maintain machines in an industrial setting
  • Special Processes: Heat treat, braze, and plate
  • Assembly: Assemble, install, align, adjust, lock wire, and fit sub-assemblies and parts or auxiliary equipment using appropriate tools and equipment in an industrial setting
  • Test: Calibrate and test control fuel samples, maintain and validate test samples
  • Inspection: Utilize basic inspection equipment to verify hardware conformance to specification and drawing requirements.

What We Are Looking For

Level 1:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Level 2:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 or more years of experience in a manufacturing or similar production type role is required

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
