We are searching for anElectrical EMC Engineer to join our Salt Lake City, UT team.

As an Electrical EMC Engineer you'll be responsible for the development of EMC requirements for high reliability motor drives and control electronics that will become the new Moog products. You will be responsible for writing EMC test plans and procedures, performing EMC testing and writing EMC test reports. You will also advise circuit designers on best practices for EMC design including the design of grounding, filtering, and protection circuits.

To be considered for the position of Electronic EMC Engineer, a candidate should have a minimum of the following:

  • Ability to comprehend requirements to task level work MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464 and DO-160.
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of measurement equipment, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators
  • Ability to follow procedures accurately
  • Ability to document tests with photos, test logs
  • Ability to safely work with high voltage equipment
  • Must be able to organize data into test reports
  • Have a basic level of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering simulation software such as pspice.
  • Knowledge of circuit design including filters, transistors and passive components
  • Knowledge of computer automated test systems

In this position you'll be expected to:

  • Working alone or as part of a team, you will be a contributor to the analysis, conceptual design, development, and testing of complex hardware.
  • The products of Moog generally are unique for each customer. Therefore, most new applications require special, tailored test requirements.
  • You will generally operate as part of an EMC team, which includes other department engineers (electrical and systems engineers).
  • Effectively help in coordinating the work with program managers, systems engineers, and other engineers of multiple disciplines.

Here is an idea of what you'll be accountable for:

  • Write and execute EMC tests for new electrical products or through consulting with Moog engineering and customers.
  • Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.
  • Be a contributor in the preparation of successful proposal designs, cost estimates, and technical volume write ups.
  • Operate as a participant in a team of creative, independent and cross-functional individuals.
  • Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical reputation.
  • Communicate your work including analyses, and test results through accurate and concise reports.

Preferred experience:

  • To fulfill the demands of design and development of new products you must have self-starting instincts and strong analytical skills.
  • Have scripting experience such as Matlab and LabView

Salary Range Transparency:

Salt Lake City, UT $85,000.00-$110,000.00 Annually

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
