JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Penn State Altoona, a public related institution, invites candidates for the job of Part-Time Assistant Cross Country Coach. The assistant coach reports to the head coach and is responsible for assisting in the management of all aspects of the cross country program. Duties include, but will not be limited to:
A demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate, and develop Division III student-athletes; knowledge of the sport and a verifiable ability to teach both fundamentals and strategies of the sport is necessary. This person must possess a commitment to high academic standards, and the NCAA Division III philosophy. A successful candidate will have a reputation for integrity. Penn State Altoona is a member of the NCAA Division III and the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC). Applicants must be well versed in the sport and have previous coaching or instructing experience. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until position is filled. BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
