Nokia of America Corporation, R&D Customer Support/ NPI Expert (Multiple Positions), Naperville, IL



  • Provide engineering support for Cloud Mobility Management (CMM) product and perform troubleshooting and technical analyses as member of the CMM 4LS Customer Support team.
  • Identify root cause of product issues by working with existing logs, metrics, packet capture files and environmental variables (network, customer premises constraints).
  • Work with network/protocol simulator in a lab environment to re-create faulty scenarios or verify/create workaround/solutions.
  • Participate in discussions with other levels of technical support and with customer teams to understand a field issue and update the technical support team with the on-going investigation status.
  • Interact with R&D (design/test) and product line management in addressing customer encountered issues.
  • Provide measurable input into new products, processes, standards or operational plans in support of business strategies.
  • Analyze, develop and implement concepts and solutions as a subject matter expert. #LI-DNI


Domestic travel up to 5% required.

International travel up to 5% required.

Telecommuting from a location within commuting distance of Naperville, IL may be permitted up to 60%.

Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems or a related field, and 6 years of related work experience (of which, 5 years must be post-bachelor's, progressive related). Or a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems or a related field, and 4 years of related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 4 years of experience with the following:



  • EPC or 5GC products;
  • Programming in C/C++ and Python;
  • 5G AMF call processing collisions handling, and 5G session restoration;
  • Cloud computing environment: VNF or CNF;
  • RCA (Root cause analysis) processes;
  • EDA (Escapa Defect Analysis) processes;
  • Core Network product, including SGSN, MME, or AMF.
