General Summary:
- At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role - Whey - Protein Group Leader 12 Hour PMRate is$34.20 (Break in rates and $0.75 cents differential pay from 6PM - 5:59AM applies). The Group Leader is responsible for overseeing and directing the crew and equipment operations in the Whey Department.
Job Description:
- At all times, operate in a manner consistent with safe operating procedures.
- Responsible for the safe performance of operators' responsibilities in accordance with applicable Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- PerformsHTST and UF'sduties maintaining, adjusting, and controlling the equipment to achieve the proper end targets (pH, temperature, and time).
- Perform ProteinDryerOperator duties maintaining daily log, write work orders, and ensure the CIP of each empty retentate silo.
- PerformPackagingOperator duties monitoring condition of all equipment for proper and regular maintenance.
- PerformSanitationOperator duties ensuring master sanitation schedules are completed in a timely matter.
- Perform daily product inventory of silos, powder bins, ingredients chemical inventories every morning.
- Document any operational change and all adjustments in appropriate areas in a timely and accurate manner during production and anything out of the ordinary. Coordinate action plans in dealing with extraneous issues in all instances.
- Monitor ingredients and supplies necessary for production and ensure their availability to each operator.
- Make necessary adjustments to achieve customer specifications.
- Maintain clear communication with the department's operators, and group leaders, and supervisors of other departments.
- Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and/or stoppages. Notify maintenance as needed to minimize department downtime. Follow through to completion with the maintenance technician, foreperson, or supervisor as needed.
- Adhere to all Company and regulatory GMPs and safety standards.
- Maintain the Master Sanitation schedule. Ensure data is accurate and up to date.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Knowledge of sanitary GMPs.
- Physical requirements to perform job as defined in the essential job function.
- Computer literacy.
- Acquire a Pasteurization license Demonstrated leadership ability and strong commitment to safety.
- Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills. Self-starter, Self-motivator, and Multi-task ability.
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions.
Required Knowledge:
- Knowledge of sanitary GMPs.
- Physical requirements to perform job as defined in the essential job function.
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions.
- Computer literacy.
- Must be able to lift 55lbs.

Working Relationships:
- This position reports to the Whey Manager or a Supervisor.
- This position will regularly interact with other production and support group supervisors. Regular interaction with other plant management.
