Job Description:

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Are you a visionary operations leader ready to make a meaningful impact across the Pacific Islands? We're seeking a Regional Chief Operations Officer (COO) to oversee and elevate regional operations. This is a unique opportunity to drive strategic initiatives, lead the region's organizational and business units, and empower volunteers across one of the most culturally rich and geographically diverse regions in the country. You'll work alongside passionate professionals and volunteers; all committed to making a difference.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD

  • Lead and Inspire: Supervise, coach, and mentor managers, employees, and volunteers across multiple operational areas in the Hawaiian Islands, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa.

  • Strategize and Execute: Direct regional business activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, priorities, and timelines.

  • Ensure Operational Excellence: Oversee administrative functions, fleet and facility management, and ensure compliance with COOP plans and real estate policies.

  • Collaborate Across Functions: Serve as liaison with Finance, HR, IT, Legal, and other corporate functions to ensure seamless regional operations.

  • Support Community Services: Manage personnel, program development, and financial targets for all Community Service programs.

  • Champion a Unified Approach: Foster collaboration regionally and nationally and amongst program areas to deliver integrated services across the Pacific Islands Region.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.

  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience, with at least 5 years in a management role.

  • Skills:

    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Leadership and mentoring experience.

    • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

    • Financial acumen and ability to interpret budgets and reports.

    • Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, geographically dispersed environment.

    • Cultural competency and sensitivity to Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities.

    • Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently across the islands.

  • Travel: Frequent inter-island travel required; occasional regional or national travel may also be necessary.

* Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

The salary range for this position is: $ 128,000 - $140,000. This role is NOT eligible for relocation.

Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.

Physical Requirements

Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods of time. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.
